High above this hill town are three medieval castles which are dramatically lit up at night. 
A fine Romanesque church, begun in 1080, has three carved portals as well as delicately crafted inlaid wood choir stalls.
Nearby Bagno Vignoni features a stone pool of bubbling hot sulphurous water in its main square, in addition to a spa hotel.
