As far as the natural environment surrounding Città della Pieve, the vegetation is made up of various types of plants:  oak, olive, grapevines, chestnut, beech, birch, broom, pine, holm oak, thyme, rosemary, bay, lavender, etc.
The fauna of the territory includes many species;  it is not difficult while on a nature walk, especially at dawn or sunset, to run into roe deer, fallow deer, wild boar, fox, wildcats, squirrels, badgers, and several kinds of birds of prey.
